
Sailing School Training Boats
When it comes to our fleet of training boats, we have boats that are suitable for sailors of all ages and skill levels.

Optimist (Opti)
The Optimist is a tried and true boat for kids. It can be sailed as a one-or two-person boat. Not only is it the perfect boat for beginners, but it has the largest youth racing class in the world. All of our daycamps, with the exception of the shorter Opti Wetfeet courses, run 10am-3:30pm, Mon-Fri, for one week.
2022 Opti courses (ages 7-12):
Opti Wetfeet - 3 hr introductory class each day, Mon-Fri, for one week
Opti Adventurers - full day combines introductory sailing with ocean awareness
Opti FUNdamentals - full day introductory sailing
CANSail Basic - CANSail 1&2; Pre-requisite: any of the above
CANSail Advanced - CANSail 3&4; Pre-requisite: CANSail 2;
Learn to Race - Competitive sailing; Pre-requisite: CANSail 2

RS Feva (Feva)
The Feva is the world’s leading double handed sailboat for youth. It is a two-person boat that's great for beginners and also has a healthy racing fleet in the lower mainland. All of our daycamps, with the exception of the shorter Feva ICANSail courses, run 10am-3:30pm, Mon-Fri, for one week.
2022 Feva courses (ages 10-16):
Feva ICANSail - 3 hr introductory class each day, Mon-Fri, for one week
Feva Adventurers - full day combines introductory sailing with ocean awareness
Feva FUNdamentals - full day introductory sailing
CANSail Basic - CANSail 1&2; Pre-requisite: any of the above

Laser Radial
The Laser is a widely used class of single-handed, one-design sailboats, with different size rigs to accommodate older youth to adult sailors. It has been an Olympic-class boat since 1996. All of our daycamps run 10am-3:30pm, Mon-Fri, for one week.
2022 Laser courses (ages 14-17):
CANSail Advanced - CANSail 3&4; Pre-requisite: CANSail 2;
Learn to Race - Competitive sailing; Pre-requisite: CANSail 2

Club 420
The 420 is a comfortable and stable learning boat for adults and teens. They can also be raced with a spinnaker & trapeze for more advanced sailors.
• CANSail Basic courses run two evenings per week, Mon/Fri or Tu/Thurs, 6-9 pm,
for four weeks.
• Experience Sailing courses run in 3-hr sessions, Sat or Sun, for four weeks,
choose from three different time slots.
2022 420 courses (Adults & Teens ages 15+):
CANSail Basic - CANSail 1&2; No previous experience required
Experience Sailing - Give sailing a try or refresh your skills in a shorter course;
No previous experience required
